Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1: Do you ship your kittens?

Answer: No.  We currently do not ship kittens.  We are just 8 minutes from exit 108 on I-40.

Question 2: Do you sell breeding rights? How much?

Answer: Only to certain breeders with a good reputation. Kittens with breeding rights will be $750.
Without...all pet kittens are $500.

Question 3: Is the deposit transferable to another kitten?

Answer: Yes. The deposit may be transferred to another kitten as long as another kitten is available and the transfer is requested at least one week before the first kitten is ready to go to its new home.

Question 4: Where are your cats registered?

Answer: Our cats are registered with The Cat Fanciers' Association and The Traditional Cat Association

Question 5: May I change the name of a kitten after I purchase it?

Answer: Yes, you may choose any name you like. When a new litter is born, we register the litter. When the new owner chooses a name, he or she sends in the form we provide to register the kitten.

Question 6: Will you take a personal check?

Answer: You may use your personal check for the deposit, however if you make the final payment at the time you pick the kitten up...we request cash. Or you can use PayPal if you do it ahead of time.

Question 7: Are your kittens litter box trained?

Answer: Yes. They are trained for the litter box, scratching post and they're eating solid food before they go to their new home.

Question 8: Are your kittens vaccinated?

Answer:
Yes.  When the kittens are 8 weeks old they get the Feline Focus 3 Vaccine.   This three-in-one vaccine, provides protection against Feline Rhinotracheitis-Calici-Panleukopenia.

Question 9: Have your cats been tested for PKD?

Answer: Yes.  Puddy, Pepper and Pearl have been DNA tested negative for PKD.  Which means their offspring will not have PKD.   The two new breeders (Smokey and Tabby) have not been tested by me...however, their parents are PKD negative therefore they are negative.

Question 10: What do you feed your cats/kittens?

Answer: I feed all my cats Purina Cat Chow (indoor formula) mixed with Purina Kitten Chow.  I do this so the mothers will get the nutrients they need while breeding/nursing.  The kittens get only Purina Kitten Chow  until they are about 6 weeks old.  Then they start eating the mix.  I also feed my kitties boiled chicken breast about 3 times a week.  I cook it then puree' it in a food processor.  They love it!!

Question 11: What should I get for my kitten before they come home?

Answer: You need food, bowls and a litter box with litter.  I use Tidy Cat Scoop litter.  It is wonderful!  Also, very necessary is a brush and nail clippers.  Persians and Himalayans need daily grooming.  Consider a slicker brush to remove loose fur and a de-matting comb.  You may want to purchase some cheap baby washcloths to wipe their eyes when needed.  I find them to be gentle on their eyes.  You will need some type of carrier to bring your kitty home.  They sometimes do better to ride free in the car but better to be safe than sorry.
